The Role:
We are looking for Supervising Physicians and Supervising Radiologists to provide real-time virtual direct supervision for contrast-enhanced CT and MRI studies across Tether Supervision’s national network of outpatient imaging centers. This role is central to our mission: you will support technologists, ensure patient safety, and uphold compliance with state and CMS supervision requirements — all through a streamlined, HIPAA-compliant two-way A/V platform.
If you are a resident, fellow, or board-certified radiologist who values clear protocols, predictable workflows, excellent technologist communication, and a modern, tech-enabled practice environment, this role is for you. You will work closely with both our Operations team and on-site technologists as we scale from 85 to 125+ centers nationwide.
What we are looking for:
Board-certified or board-eligible radiologist with active state licensure.
Current ACLS and BLS certification.
Strong knowledge of the ACR contrast reaction management algorithms.
Demonstrated experience supervising contrast administration in outpatient or hospital environments.
Strong communication skills and ability to support technologists remotely with clarity and confidence.
Commitment to patient safety, adherence to ACR and CMS guidelines, and familiarity with contrast reaction management principles.
Comfortable working through digital platforms, structured protocols, and escalation pathways.
Reliable schedule availability and strong professional responsiveness.
Access to a tablet or laptop with reliable audio/video capabilities and stable internet.
Nice-to-have:
Multiple active state licenses (priority states available on request).
Prior experience with telehealth, virtual supervision, or remote clinical workflows.
Experience working with outpatient imaging centers, IDTFs, or high-volume CT/MR environments.
Familiarity with documentation, incident logging, and structured QA processes.
Responsibilities:
Provide real-time virtual direct supervision during contrast administration for CT and MRI using our HIPAA-compliant A/V platform.
Promptly respond to calls from imaging centers during assigned coverage windows.
Evaluate and manage adverse reactions to iodinated or gadolinium-based contrast agents.
Support technologists in applying ACR treatment algorithms and escalation pathways.
Submit accurate and complete incident reports following any contrast reaction event.
Collaborate with Operations on scheduling, credentialing, and multi-center coverage workflows.
Maintain high professionalism and clinical readiness throughout all supervised shifts.
Your benefits with Tether:
Malpractice insurance provided: full coverage for all supervising activity.
Flexible scheduling: Shifts assigned in one-week blocks (Monday–Sunday) with predictable, low call volume (typically 3–4 calls/week).
Mission-driven work: Directly enhance patient safety and improve access to contrast-enhanced imaging nationwide.
Transparency: Clear compensation ($50–$100/hour), clear expectations, and structured support from our Operations team.
Autonomy & clinical freedom: Focus on patient safety and supervision without reporting burdens or productivity quotas.
Additional Information:
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Coverage is scheduled in by shift on a monthly basis
